Electrical Steels

There are three principal types of electrical steel; grain oriented steels, non-oriented fully processed steels and non-oriented semi-processed steels.

Electrical steel, also called lamination steel, silicon electrical steel, silicon steel or transformer steel, is a speciality steel tailored to produce certain magnetic properties, such as a small hysteresis area (small energy dissipation per cycle, or low core loss) and high permeability.

Union Steel Products can supply quantities to suit your specific production needs - large or small in slit coil, blanks or sheet.

Our customer base is mainly throughout the UK, but we can also supply Ireland and mainland Europe.

Our principal markets are in the power generation and wind power sector.

All materials are processed on machines capable of a high degree of accuracy to very close tolerances.
